What’s Changing with Southwest Policy?

For the first or second checked bags for the reservations booked or say changes on or before May 27, 2025, irrespective of your travel date.

Checked baggage costs will be charged for reservations made or modified on or after May 28, 2025. Our Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred Members and Business Select Customers will receive two complimentary checked bags, while A-List Members and other select customers will receive one complimentary checked bag. Rapid Rewards Credit Cardholders will receive a credit from Southwest for their first regular checked bag. There are weight and size restrictions that follow them likewise. The existing checked baggage regulations are applicable to customers who are traveling on tickets made before May 28, 2025.
